Scavenger

The goal of making this creature was to design something that could possibly be a scavenger in a futuristic or alternate reality. In order to do this I wanted to reference anatomy of animals that exist today including greyhounds, various species from the Viverridae family (such as the civet), raccoons, ferrets, deer, and seals. I wanted to create a strong and quick animal that could survive in bleak conditions. The raccoon like front paws help it grasp and manipulate objects. The big rib cage allows for large intakes of oxygen, which are very important for allowing this creature to move fast and use it’s powerful back legs to leap and escape danger. Large eyes, inspired after seals, help the creature see well in low light environments. The sturdy tail helps balance out this creature’s fast and risky movements as well as adding support to it’s curved lower spine.
